Boozhoo {hello} and welcome to Ode'imin and Sage's blog!!!
My name is Shannon, and I am the founder and owner of Ode'imin and Sage. {My shop can be found on Etsy ---> Ode'imin and Sage }
With the 4th anniversary of opening my shop on Etsy right around the corner, I've decided to start a blog about all things related to "Ode'imin And Sage". I have been thinking about creating a blog surrounding Ode'imin And Sage for the last two years now, and I am finally taking the dive. {Deep breaths.}
Why the blog?
The main reason I decided to start a blog is due to my social media accounts being suppressed. On most platforms that Ode'imin and Sage are on - my content is only pushed to roughly 10-25 followers...if any at all {I have the stats!}. Sure, they'll push my content to more users {not necessarily followers} if I PAY for them to {starting at ten bucks to about 100 people...A DAY}, but that's not how things started off back in the day. Meaning, if you had followers - they would see your content pop up in real time. But that's not how it works anymore, sadly.
Heck...those that I follow, I often times won't see their content unless I go directly to their page/account, and in the rare case that their content does show up - it's usually three to five days later {sometimes even weeks!} Ironically, the less I post on those platforms - the more views and interests I seem to get when I make a post {I know some will disagree with me on that, but I have the stats and experience to prove otherwise}. And let's face it, the way the economy is right now - I can't afford to spend a dime on even MORE advertising, as I already spend a healthy dime on Etsy! And those dimes add up fast!
Through this blog, my hopes are to address common interests about my shop from the beads that I use, to the patterns and designs that I use, to the making, to the supplies, to the most frequently asked questions, and more...so much more.
I would also like to create a sort of free space for my followers and customers to ask questions and make suggestions without feeling obligated or pressured to make a purchase. I DO respond in a very timely manner to questions and the like, just ask my customers. {I swear, I do have a life!!!}
My goal is to post weekly blogs over the next several months to see if it's worth the time and effort, or not. I know it will take a while to build up a following, so it's going to be a work in process until I achieve and establish a solid routine.
Please subscribe. Please leave a comment. Ask questions. I enjoy conversations about the topics at hand.
Chi Miigwech {big thanks},
Shannon
